Contemporary Accessible Courtyard
This farmhouse style building had a simple wrap around lawn when the clients bought the property in 2022 and having moved from a much larger country garden they were keen to inject some colour and life into the space. The client’s had brough various features and sculptures with them which needed to be incorporated into the design and they were looking for a contemporary feel. Creative discussions during the Initial Consultation with Bel lead the project away from the traditional lawn and borders and towards a modern plant focussed style.
There was also a requirement for good accessibility throughout the gently sloping garden, so steps were out of the question. Bel created 3D Design Visuals and a Garden Design package with clear layout and design plans which the client’s loved. Landscaping started in early 2024 using natural stone paving materials and timber to grade the space, allowing for easy movement around the space. We were lucky enough to be able to include a Sitting Spiritually bench and Parker and Coop Log Store in this project, which teamed well with the clients existing sculptures and furniture.
Bel began planting the space with a dynamic selection multi-stem trees, shrubs, perennials and ornamental grasses in the Spring ready for a full colour explosion in the summer months!
